Description

Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media used for pH correction. Its self-limiting nature adjusts acidity only to a non-corrosive level without overcorrection. As acidic water passes through, calcite dissolves gradually, increasing pH and reducing metal leaching from plumbing.

Regular backwashing prevents compaction and maintains flow efficiency. The media is consumed over time and requires periodic replenishment based on water chemistry and usage.

• As calcite neutralizes water through its calcium carbonate content, it will increase hardness and a softener may become necessary after the neutralizing filter.
  

• Calcite can also be combined with Corosex to utilize the high-flow neutralization characteristics of Corosex along with the slower reaction rate of calcite, improving overall effectiveness in correcting low pH.
