Catalytic carbon backwashing filter systems are quite popular because they reduce hydrogen sulfide, odors, sediment, tastes, and chloramines, among other issues with water quality.

This system uses high-activity, 12″ x 40″ mesh catalytic granular activated carbon made from steam-activated coconut shell charcoal. Its catalytic properties enable effective removal of hydrogen sulfide and chloramines from drinking water.

With a high micropore volume, it is particularly suited for reducing low molecular weight organic compounds and their chlorinated by-products, including chloroform and other trihalomethanes (THMs).
