The Aquatrol 56SE Water Softener System is designed to reduce hard water issues and scale buildup throughout the entire home. It is available in 32,000, 48,000, and 64,000 grain capacities to suit different household requirements.

This system helps reduce hardness minerals in water, minimizing scale formation on plumbing, fixtures, and appliances while improving overall water quality.

The system operates on ion exchange technology. Hard water passes through a resin bed where calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged with sodium ions. This process reduces water hardness and helps prevent scale formation.

When the resin becomes saturated, the system automatically regenerates using a salt brine solution, restoring its softening capacity for continued operation.

The unit follows a multi-stage regeneration cycle:

• Backwash: Removes trapped debris and loosens the resin bed
• Brine Draw: Sodium-rich solution flushes through the resin to replace hardness minerals
• Rinse: Removes excess brine from the system
• Refill: Restores brine tank for the next cycle

Water hardness is measured in grains per gallon (GPG), ppm, or mg/L. For sizing:

• 1 ppm = 1 mg/L ÷ 17.1 = 1 GPG
• Iron and manganese levels should also be considered when calculating total hardness load

System regeneration frequency typically ranges from 3 to 10 days depending on water quality and household usage.
