Applications: This system is suitable for use in conditions where low to moderate levels of ferrous (dissolved) iron or hydrogen sulfide are present or anticipated. Hydrogen sulfide is commonly associated with a noticeable rotten egg or sulfur-like odor.

The filter performs most efficiently when iron and hydrogen sulfide concentrations are below 5 ppm. Optimal results are achieved when the water pH ranges between 6.5 and 8.5 and when some level of dissolved oxygen is present. In addition, the filter can remove ferric iron through mechanical filtration; however, in such cases, a sediment filter may serve as a more economical alternative.

The life of the filter cartridge depends on the contamination level (iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide levels) and the amount of water consumed on a daily basis.
