Whole House Standard Blue Refillable Birm Filter for Iron & Manganese – 2.5″ x 20″

• Standard 4.5″ x 20″ cartridge
• Refillable inline filter, 2.5″ x 20″. Compatible with most standard 20″ whole house water systems and commercial RO systems.
• Reduces iron and manganese content from the water source.

Application:
This system is intended for use in conditions where low to moderate levels of dissolved (ferrous) iron or hydrogen sulfide contamination are present or expected. Hydrogen sulfide is typically identified by a strong “rotten egg” or sulfur-like odor.

The filter performs most effectively when iron and hydrogen sulfide levels are below 5 ppm. Optimal contaminant reduction is achieved when the water pH ranges between 6.5 and 8.5 and when dissolved oxygen is present in the water.

The system is also capable of removing ferric iron through mechanical filtration; however, in many cases, a dedicated sediment filter may be a more cost-effective solution.

Filter Life:
Cartridge lifespan depends on the level of contamination (iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide) as well as daily water usage. Under typical residential conditions, the expected service life is approximately 20,000 gallons (75,500 liters).

For best performance and extended cartridge life, the use of a sediment pre-filter is recommended.
